Improving Conditions for Learning in Idaho

A diverse group of stakeholders from across Idaho have been collaborating to improve the behavioral health and wellness services (BHWS) available to students in the state’s schools. This Region 17 CC article chronicles the group's work to develop targeted, research-based recommendations, which include increasing statewide resources available to districts to address mental health, adopting a common framework to talk about mental health and social and emotional learning, and finding ways to increase and support mental health professionals in schools.
