Increasing Student Financial Aid Planning Rates to Improve Post-Secondary Enrollment

LDOE has made great progress in increasing financial aid application completion to 83% of students completing as a graduation requirement in 2019. We are exploring the root causes of the 17% non-completers and the connect to post-secondary enrollment rates, as well as developing evidence-based plans to reach 100% completion.

Increasing Effective Coordination and Access to Medical Services for School-Aged Children

In this project, the California Department of Education (CDE) and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys to gather information from stakeholders about how they experience the current Medi-Cal system and to collect ideas for system-wide improvement in access to funding and health services. The project also features a policy scan related to the coordination and expansion of access to funding and health services for students eligible for Medi-Cal.
