LDOE has made great progress in increasing financial aid application completion to 83% of students completing as a graduation requirement in 2019. We are exploring the root causes of the 17% non-completers and the connect to post-secondary enrollment rates, as well as developing evidence-based plans to reach 100% completion. 

LDOE is identifying schools with a high rate of out of school suspensions as part of their ESSA Accountability system. They are seeking to provide guidance and intervention support to schools who need the most help in reducing their OSS rates. 

TEA is engaging a broad range of stakeholders to identify gaps in mental health services for students and families, build ESC capacity to support districts, and developing a statewide plan to address mental health needs.

Working to ensure all students with mental health and social emotional learning needs can meet with certified and trained professionals. 

This project will provide resources and services to raise awareness and use of trauma-informed practices to create supportive policies and use of evidene-based practices (EBPs) that result in school environments that are safe and conducive to learning and mitigate the effects of childhood trauma.

This project will include design and implementation of systems of equity, including training for all levels, people and programs in the organization.

In this project, the California Department of Education (CDE) and the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) will conduct interviews, focus groups, and surveys to gather information from stakeholders about how they experience the current Medi-Cal system and to collect ideas for system-wide improvement in access to funding and health services. The project also features a policy scan related to the coordination and expansion of access to funding and health services for students eligible for Medi-Cal.

This project will help the Utah State Board of Education (USBE) improve the quality and use of collected statewide school safety data by developing resources and supports for districts regarding collection, submission, and interpretation of valid and reliable school safety data.
