The National Center Presents… is a webinar series created to build awareness and knowledge among states and districts around high-leverage challenges, common needs, and evidence-based strategies and solutions related to focus topics. This series aims to support states and districts to build their awareness and knowledge around evidence-based strategies and solutions to address high-leverage challenges and common needs.

On April 14, presenters for The National Center Presents: Making Summer a Successful and Sustainable Strategy for Student Growth featured Patricia Lewis, Associate Superintendent at Grand Prairie ISD, Grand Prairie, Texas. She provided her expertise and insight around her district’s collaborative effort to create, implement and sustain the successful MY CAMP summer program.

The webinar also previewed findings from two forthcoming studies from EDC and Westat, both funded by the Wallace Foundation, describing the state of summer learning in districts across the country. Presenters discussed that findings show that 97% of districts plan to offer some form of summer learning in 2022. This was a significant increase over 2021.
